About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical support to County and external support agencies using computer technology
  • Support technical and non-technical users regarding product use and performance
  • Act as enterprise project manager for customer support needs
  • Answer questions, provide training, and resolve specific problems
  • Transition supported products into service operation through documentation and training
  • May serve as team leader for Customer Support Analysts and trainees
  • Maintain continuity of operations for the help desk
  • Manage designated client/server applications, enterprise business applications, and SaaS solutions
  • Install, configure, and customize hardware and software, including operating systems for PCs and servers
  • Maintain and configure remote network connectivity hardware and software, including Cradlepoints and VPN connections
  • Maintain Windows image packages and deployment drivers
  • Create and maintain automated deployment methods, scripted Windows customizations, task sequences, and custom image packages
  • Troubleshoot and resolve desktop support client/server application issues
  • Research hardware and software, evaluate new technologies, and implement technical solutions
  • Coordinate with internal resources and vendors
  • Provide elevated support for elected officials, county managers, and senior county leadership
  • Develop and implement training materials
  • Mentor Customer Support Analysts and trainees and identify training needs
  • Provide Tier 3 support
  • Maintain customer support documentation and knowledgebase
  • Maintain ticketing systems and communicate service-call status
  • Back up the Customer Support Manager and assist with project and resource allocation
  • Coordinate technology projects between IT and County departments
  • Participate in rotating after-hours on-call support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Three years of experience in technical support, customer service, desktop technologies, networking and/or system administration
  • At least one to two years of progressive experience serving as a technical lead, team lead, project coordinator, mentor, or senior escalation resource in an IT customer support environment
  • Valid US driver’s license without restrictions
  • Current proof of automobile insurance
  • Experience coordinating work across staff, training or mentoring personnel, leading technology deployments, and serving in an acting or backup supervisory capacity is preferred
  • CompTIA A+ is preferred
  • CompTIA N+ is preferred
