About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Reach out to patients regarding new or processing referrals, confirming demographic information, providing referral updates, and confirming delivery of goods or services
  • Communicate with vendor partners, claims adjusters, and nurse case managers about new and in-process referrals
  • Procure vendor partners for each referral based on requested goods or services
  • Make and take phone calls regarding existing referrals, new referrals, and other team members’ referrals
  • Provide quotes to clients for approval and follow up on quotes to obtain written approval
  • Ensure referrals are medically necessary and approved by the claim adjuster
  • Confirm required billing information and move referrals to billing each day
  • Process referrals according to state regulations and workers’ compensation guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Support the organization’s quality programs
  • Travel as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Two (2) years of industry experience in healthcare network and patient care scheduling or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Analytical and interpretive skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate and constructive written reports
