About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Reach out to patients regarding new or processing referrals, confirm demographic information, provide referral updates, and confirm delivery of goods or services
- Communicate with vendor partners, claims adjusters, and nurse case managers about referrals
- Procure vendor partners for requested goods or services
- Make or take calls regarding existing, new, or team members’ referrals
- Provide quotes to clients for approval and follow up to obtain written approval
- Ensure referrals are medically necessary and approved by the claims adjuster
- Confirm required billing information and move referrals to billing each day
- Process referrals according to state regulations and workers compensation guidelines
- Perform other assigned duties
- Support organizational quality programs
- Travel as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- Two (2) years of industry experience in healthcare network and patient care scheduling, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Self-starter
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
- Analytical and interpretive skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate and constructive written reports
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
- Credit security clearance, confirmed via a background credit check, is required
