About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and provide risk control services to multiple clients
- Develop and implement risk control service plans
- Provide and communicate risk mitigation methods, procedures, and programs
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs
- Serve as liaison to vendors, insurance markets, Sedgwick colleagues, clients, and other parties
- Inspect workplaces and work sites for violations of federal, state, or local safety laws
- Identify dangers for the company and clients
- Develop risk mitigation programs and procedures, including policies, standards, procedures, risk reduction strategies, training, and vendor applications
- Communicate loss reports, presentations, analyses, interpretations, advice, and counsel
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to company policies, directives, and standard operating procedures
- Participate in developing new business, products, and client retention
- Participate in activities advancing the profession
- Participate in large engagements requiring multiple analysts
- Travel as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Six (6) years of related risk services experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Experience with public entities, insurance, or risk pooling highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Safety, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- One or more preferred certifications: Graduate Safety or Associate Safety Professional (GSP or CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Professional Risk Consultant (PRC), or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)
- Knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 CFR
- Basic industrial hygiene, including noise and air sampling
- Good oral and written communication, including presentation skills
- PC literacy, including Microsoft Office products
- Good organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
- Ability to travel approximately 50% in California
