About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive Sedgwick’s global inorganic growth agenda
  • Lead the full lifecycle of M&A activity, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic investments
  • Lead deal execution from target identification and outreach through due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, negotiation, and post-close integration
  • Identify acquisition targets aligned with Sedgwick’s service offerings, geographic footprint, and technological capabilities
  • Conduct market scans and competitive analyses
  • Develop and manage a global pipeline of M&A opportunities
  • Build relationships with investment banks, private equity firms, advisors, and industry stakeholders
  • Oversee financial models, synergy assessments, and valuation analyses
  • Prepare investment committee materials and board presentations
  • Partner with legal, finance, colleague resources, IT, compliance, and operations teams on due diligence and integration planning
  • Manage internal and external resources to streamline timelines and mitigate risks
  • Develop and execute integration strategies, governance structures, and milestone tracking
  • Monitor post-deal performance, including revenue growth, cost synergies, and strategic fit
  • Provide updates to executive leadership and ensure accountability for value capture
  • Serve as lead negotiator with target companies, advisors, and financial institutions
  • Represent Sedgwick at industry events and strategic partnership discussions
  • Lead market and competitive intelligence, scenario planning, and risk assessments
  • Build and lead a high-performing corporate strategy team
  • Mentor team members and foster analytical rigor, innovation, and professional development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in Business Administration from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Ten (10) years of related experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development with at least five (5) years of senior leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-border transactions
  • Deep understanding of services-based business models, ideally in insurance, healthcare, or risk management
  • Interest and some experience in using AI to improve M&A capabilities
  • Strong financial acumen and strategic thinking
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Analytical and interpretive skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proven management/leadership skills
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate and constructive written reports
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
  • Ability to travel as required
