About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design Sedric's AI reference architecture end to end
- Establish patterns, standards, and platform capabilities for AI initiatives across engineering
- Lead architecture reviews and set the technology roadmap
- Decide which technologies, vendors, and foundation models to adopt, pilot, or retire
- Design AI architecture and ensure every AI initiative aligns with it
- Define reusable patterns for AI services, agents, retrieval systems, evaluation pipelines, and infrastructure
- Evaluate emerging technologies, vendors, and foundation models
- Partner with Product leadership during early discovery on AI-intensive initiatives
- Ship LLM-driven improvements and optimize existing flows for latency and reliability
- Own AI design across the platform and advise teams before implementation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of ML AI architecture experience in a SaaS company
- 3+ years of backend development experience
- Experience building agentic systems with tool use, planning, and multi-step reasoning in production
- Experience setting up AI governance and evaluation harnesses from scratch
- Hands-on experience with AI in production systems
- Ability to take a project from concept to shipped and interface with stakeholders throughout
- Relevant degree required; advanced degree in CS, ML, Statistics, or a related field is a plus
- Comfortable engaging with customers and executives and translating technical tradeoffs into business terms
