About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the main client contact for offshore and domestic alternative fund accounting and administration
  • Manage delegation of funds to the team
  • Coordinate and onboard new fund setups
  • Liaise between clients and internal teams
  • Provide accurate accounting packages
  • Coordinate and support year-end audit engagements in accordance with GAAP accounting standards
  • Perform due diligence to ensure client compliance with laws and regulations
  • Review fund transactions under Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures
  • Ensure team compliance with departmental rules and regulations
  • Generate and reconcile accounting reports, including month-end valuation reports
  • Review and approve month-end valuations before client distribution
  • Authorize wire payments from fund escrow accounts
  • Respond to investment manager inquiries about transactions, administration, reporting and financial statements
  • Coordinate with investment managers, transfer agents, sales and service teams, technology support and vendors to resolve issues
  • Conduct performance appraisals and monthly one-on-ones
  • Provide career pathing and training
  • Assess resource requirements, interview candidates and hire employees
  • Champion team development, promotions and disciplinary action
  • Support business development and relationship teams with prospect calls, client visits and presentations
  • Facilitate onboarding of new and converted clients
  • Gather client requirements and submit custom requests
  • Communicate key deliverables to team members
  • Participate in professional development sessions and identify process improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA / BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the fund services industry
  • Alternatives experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory or management experience
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to learn new financial services concepts and systems
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs
  • Ability to work in a team environment
