About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Price and maintain timely records for hedge and private equity holdings using external pricing resources
  • Perform timely Net Asset Value reconciliations and provide accounting reports
  • Communicate fund transactions and prepare accurate, thorough accounting packages
  • Coordinate and support year-end audit engagements in accordance with GAAP accounting standards
  • Perform due diligence to ensure client compliance with government laws and regulations
  • Train and supervise accounting analysts on systems, processing, procedures, and responsibilities
  • Review fund accountant analyst work to support error-free reconciliations and reporting
  • Correspond with external investment managers regarding fund inquiries, reconciliations, scheduled deliverables, and escalations
  • Assist the manager with performance appraisals, monthly one-on-ones, career pathing, and training
  • Participate in analyst interviews and help meet staffing requirements
  • Support team development, promotions, and disciplinary actions
  • Attend IMS and corporate professional development sessions and identify process improvements
  • Partner with a diverse team and contribute to client service and fund administration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA / BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the fund services industry
  • Alternatives experience preferred
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Self-motivation, organization, and drive to complete multiple client deliverables timely without sacrificing quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to learn new financial services concepts and systems
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
