About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research and analyze Medicaid financing programs and provider financial data from multiple sources, including cost reports and state budget information
  • Build profiles of hospitals, physicians, and state environments showing where Medicaid financing opportunities exist
  • Create custom reports for Sales team staff and leadership to guide prospect identification and pursuit
  • Work with colleagues across functions to confirm reports are technically accurate and delivered on time
  • Establish and maintain standards for research work products, including research procedures and templates
  • Produce research for senior leadership with little supervision
  • Support the Sales team in the firm's National Medicaid Financing practice

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Health policy, health care finance, health administration, or a related discipline is required
  • 3-4 years of professional experience in Medicaid, health care, and/or human services, or 1-2 years of experience combined with relevant advanced education
  • An exceptional candidate with relevant advanced education and no professional experience may be considered
  • Strong math and Excel skills
  • Experience developing research work products independently for senior leadership
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Advanced Excel to import, organize, and analyze large data sets
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, or the ability to learn it quickly
  • Quantitative and qualitative research skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to locate, evaluate, and synthesize public information on Medicaid and other healthcare programs
  • Clear written and oral communication, including concise summaries of technical material and internal work products
  • Ability to manage complex projects autonomously
  • Project management skills, including time management, task delegation, and PM tools
  • Ability to communicate across functions to close knowledge gaps and keep work accurate and timely
