About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build scalable, reliable physical and wireless network infrastructures, including LANs, WANs, and cloud connectivity
Install, configure, and manage routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and DHCP
Monitor network performance metrics, analyze traffic patterns, and tune systems to maximize efficiency and prevent downtime
Diagnose and resolve complex network outages, performance degradation, and connectivity faults across multi-vendor environments
Implement network security controls, access policies, firewalls, and VPNs to protect corporate assets against cyber threats
Maintain architecture diagrams, manage compliance with change control processes, and evaluate emerging technologies
Lead migration from current firewall infrastructure to a Zscaler-based zero-trust architecture
Own the design, operation, and improvement of Semtech's global network, including VPN modernization and cross-regional connectivity
Collaborate with IT Infrastructure, Security, and Cloud teams to ensure network resilience, performance, and security

Requirements

What you’ll need

8 years of information technology experience
3+ years of experience in a dedicated network engineering role
Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and routing
Hands-on experience with Cisco switches
Hands-on experience with Zscaler
Bachelor's degree or technical school training in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Advanced knowledge of networking principles and practices
Comprehensive understanding of routing protocols, switching technologies, and network security
Expert proficiency with network management tools, monitoring systems, and security platforms
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in network design and implementation
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Superior written and verbal communication abilities
Advanced problem-solving capabilities with systematic approach
Expert understanding of network security, compliance, and risk management
Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions
Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing
Comprehensive understanding of semiconductor industry network requirements
Advanced ability to analyze complex network issues and develop solutions
Experience with network automation and software-defined networking
Knowledge of cloud networking and hybrid connectivity models
Professional certification in networking (CCNP, PCNSE, Zscaler, etc.) preferred
