About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and grow a portfolio of national and regional chain accounts
- Build strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and strategic partners
- Develop and execute annual account plans, sales forecasts, and strategic growth initiatives
- Identify and pursue new account opportunities
- Expand product penetration, menu placements, and distribution within existing customers
- Identify and execute Limited-Time Offers, menu innovation, new item placements, and category expansion initiatives
- Lead customer business reviews, growth planning sessions, product presentations, and new business discussions
- Manage the sales process from initial opportunity and product evaluation through implementation and ongoing account management
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, annual agreements, and manage volume commitments
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and analyze sales trends, volume, market conditions, and customer performance
- Monitor restaurant industry trends, competitive activity, customer initiatives, and emerging market opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to support customer initiatives, product launches, and account programs
- Represent Seneca Foods at customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and other relevant foodservice functions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of progressive sales and national account management experience within the foodservice industry
- Proven track record of securing new national account business while growing and expanding existing strategic accounts
- Established relationships with key decision-makers within national restaurant chains and the broader foodservice industry
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze sales performance, identify growth opportunities, and develop effective account strategies
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts, projects, customer requests, and priorities simultaneously
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to support customer meetings, business reviews, trade shows, and other sales activities
