About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare, review, and finalize state and local income, franchise, and gross receipts tax returns for multistate corporate and pass-through entities
  • Perform business activity tax nexus analyses
  • Conduct technical state and local tax research using statutes, regulations, and administrative guidance
  • Assist with state and local tax audits
  • Document technical conclusions, calculations, and research findings in audit-ready workpapers and client deliverables
  • Organize and maintain assigned SALT workstreams, track open items, coordinate data requests, and meet filing deadlines
  • Attend client meetings primarily through phone and email to gather information, clarify tax matters, and deliver updates
  • Collaborate with senior and manager/project manager team members to address review points
  • Participate in internal and external training programs
  • Handle technically challenging tax projects while ensuring compliance with firm policies and quality standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree with a major or emphasis in Accounting
  • CA CPA eligible
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • High motivation to learn and produce high-quality work
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team to meet periodic and project-based client deadlines
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Master’s degree in Taxation or Accountancy preferred
  • Minimum accounting GPA of 3.0 preferred
  • Prior public accounting experience helpful but not required
