About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process
  • Conduct assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation
  • Follow professional performance standards including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health
  • Apply clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by the Emergency Department
  • Work third shift nights at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree – Nursing, Bachelor's Degree – Nursing, or Diploma in Nursing
  • TNCC required
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS required
  • Registered Nurse license eligible to practice in VA
  • At least 2 years of recent hospital Emergency Department experience as a bedside RN required
  • EPIC user experience strongly preferred
  • Flexibility in scheduling required
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 7P–7A
  • This is a primary position and scheduling is not arranged around another job
