About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process
  • Conduct assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation
  • Apply standards of professional nursing performance, including ethics, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, and resource utilization
  • Use clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by the Emergency Department
  • Work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend during the 14-week temporary position

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's Degree – Nursing, Bachelor's Degree – Nursing, or Diploma in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse eligible to practice in VA
  • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • At least 2 years of recent bedside acute care Emergency Department experience as an RN
  • EPIC user experience strongly preferred
  • Flexibility in scheduling required
  • Willingness to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
  • Primary position; scheduling will not be arranged around another job
