About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate and resolve litigated claims efficiently and accurately
- Negotiate settlements
- Communicate with policyholders, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Provide prompt claims investigation, evaluation, and settlement or denial of litigated claims
- Verify coverages by investigating and reviewing policy terms, conditions, and language
- Work with coverage counsel on declaratory or summary judgments when required
- Evaluate liability by taking recorded statements and reviewing police reports, accident scene photos, and other evidence
- Negotiate claim settlements with claimants and their legal representatives within assigned authority limits
- Document decisions, correspondence, and discussions throughout the claim lifecycle
- Comply with industry regulations, legal requirements, and internal policies
- Work with and mentor other associates
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Extensive claims knowledge and ability to understand and manage litigated claims
- Ability to review and analyze complex documents, insurance policies, coverages, medical reports, and insurance regulations
- Ability to make appropriate claims decisions, prioritize, and manage workload
- Advanced writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Advanced conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Technology aptitude
