About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, and operate Streaming Platform components, including Kafka, the streaming runtime, high-level APIs, and developer-facing abstractions
  • Implement resilient, high-throughput stream processing systems for unbounded datasets with strong correctness guarantees
  • Build scalable automation and control plane for Kafka fleet management and improve efficiency
  • Partner with product engineers to enable fast, reliable, and consistent ingestion pipelines
  • Improve observability, monitoring, and failover for mission-critical real-time systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 2–3 years of software engineering experience, with background in distributed systems, data infrastructure, or real-time streaming
  • Proficiency in Python, Rust, Go, Java, or similar programming languages
  • Experience building and operating systems in cloud environments such as Kubernetes, AWS, or GCP
  • Experience with Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming, or similar tools is nice to have
  • Must work in the Toronto office three days per week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
  • Must be willing to work in the country where the job is posted
