About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver and contribute to quality environmental management, approvals and sustainability services
  • Advise on state-based environmental permits, licences, approvals and regulations
  • Advise on Commonwealth environmental approvals, including under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments, risk management and environmental management
  • Conduct multidisciplinary environmental and resources assessments and audits, including compliance and environmental due diligence
  • Assess climate risks and opportunities, perform carbon accounting, and prepare mandatory and voluntary sustainability reports
  • Provide strategic sustainability advice, including target setting, decarbonisation and transition planning
  • Develop technical solutions for clients, potentially including waste and resources advisory, extractive industry services, monitoring and audit plans, data interpretation and compliance advice
  • Contribute to Senversa’s positive national reputation
  • Support Senversa’s values in client delivery, quality, technical leadership, sustainability and safety
  • Contribute to the development and growth of the national EM&A team and broader Senversa team
  • Support the organisation’s cultural values and consultative leadership style

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental science, environmental engineering, science, sustainability, planning or another discipline relevant to environmental management and approvals
  • 8–10 years’ experience in sustainability, environmental approvals, management and compliance, preferably within a consulting environment
  • Strong knowledge of local, State and National environmental standards and guidelines
  • Experience or interest in developing skills in greenhouse gas accounting, climate-related risk assessments and sustainability reporting
  • Project management skills, including scheduling, coordination and project financial management
  • Strong lateral thinking, problem-solving and team-working abilities
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-starter and highly motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers and clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Valid Australian driver’s licence
