About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
  • Conduct psychiatric intake evaluations for prospective clients referred for admission based on initial assessments and recommendations
  • Provide medication management for children, adolescents, and/or adults
  • Complete 45-minute psychiatric evaluations and 30-minute medication follow-up appointments
  • Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
  • Monitor treatment response, medication effectiveness, and potential adverse effects
  • Educate clients about diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and wellness strategies
  • Collaborate with therapists and multidisciplinary team members for integrated care
  • Utilize GeneSight pharmacogenomic testing and third-party drug screening services when clinically appropriate
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Participate in weekly individual supervision, group consultation, and interdisciplinary case discussions
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education
  • Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and stigma-free client experience
  • Build ongoing therapeutic relationships through outpatient psychiatric care
  • Help shape the growing practice, develop specialties, participate in educational initiatives, and pursue future leadership opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
  • Experience, training, or strong interest in specialized areas including children and adolescents, women's mental health, perinatal/prenatal/postpartum psychiatry, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, anxiety and depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, eating disorders and body image concerns, substance use and recovery, LGBTQIA+ affirming psychiatric care, men's mental health, or pharmacogenomic-guided treatment
  • Passion for high-quality, compassionate psychiatric care
  • Collaborative clinical approach alongside therapists and other providers
  • Comfortable treating a diverse outpatient population
  • Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and organizational skills
  • Adaptability and comfort working within a growing organization
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Interest in building meaningful, long-term client relationships
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments
