About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Perform account reconciliations, including bank, accounts payable, and accounts receivable reconciliations, and resolve identified discrepancies
Prepare and post journal entries and maintain an accurate and current general ledger
Review, classify, and record expenses in accordance with company policies and applicable budget guidelines
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, accruals, and prepaid expenses
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and providing timely, accurate responses to requests
Monitor accounting activities for compliance with GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, and established company procedures
Identify and recommend process improvements that strengthen controls and increase the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
Support maintenance of compliance with GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, and company policies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical accounting experience
5+ years of full accounting experience
Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero or NetSuite
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong understanding of Sarbanes Oxley compliance processes, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements
Strong organizational, time management, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and partner effectively across teams
High degree of accuracy and analytical ability
Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting discrepancies and process inefficiencies
Progress toward CPA certification preferred
Experience with a publicly traded company or public accounting firm preferred
Experience in a startup or other fast paced environment preferred
Experience with robotics, manufacturing, or technology companies preferred
Exposure to inventory management or cost accounting processes preferred
Demonstrated ability to adapt and operate effectively in a dynamic, collaborative environment preferred
