Key responsibilities & impact

Discover operational needs, recurring friction, and emerging failure points before they become urgent
Prioritize and deliver focused improvements based on user impact, effort, risk, and operational goals
Build iterative solutions with Operations users, gather feedback, and refine implementations
Own and maintain Operations applications, dashboards, automations, integrations, and internal tools
Develop, deploy, troubleshoot, and support applications across multiple languages and Google Cloud Platform
Ramp up on and contribute to the Elixir-heavy core system
Review, debug, secure, test, document, monitor, and maintain AI-generated applications
Align Operations and Engineering on needs, owners, dependencies, tradeoffs, and shared-system changes
Help Operations identify and adopt useful AI-assisted workflows safely
Support shipped software, investigate failures, and verify improvements to operational efficiency and delivery quality

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional experience, with substantial software engineering experience and ownership of shipped software
Ability to independently design, implement, test, debug, deploy, and maintain applications
Experience building, deploying, or supporting applications and services on Google Cloud Platform
Ability to learn and contribute across multiple programming languages
Ability and expectation to learn and contribute to the Elixir-heavy core system
Experience building applications, internal tools, automations, or integrations for business or operational users
Proactive, self-starting approach and ability to take ownership without detailed instructions
Product and entrepreneurial judgment
Big-picture thinking and awareness of upstream and downstream effects
Sound judgment regarding testing, code review, access controls, sensitive data, dependency management, observability, and production support
Practical, iterative approach balancing speed, reliability, maintainability, and user needs
Ability to work directly with non-engineering users and turn feedback into improvements
Cross-functional leadership through influence
Interest in AI-assisted development and workflow automation, with ability to validate results and recognize limitations
Preferred: operator-facing applications, workflow automation, dashboards, fleet or robotics tools
Preferred: full-stack development including user interfaces, services, APIs, and data integrations
Preferred: Elixir application development
Preferred: taking prototypes into dependable operational use
