- Define platform architecture covering data stores, identity, multi-tenancy, and API layer
- Own retrieval and query performance at telemetry scale for live consoles, analytical workloads, and AI workloads
- Define storage choices, query patterns, latency targets, and tenant isolation at the data layer
- Choose the technology stack and platform standards
- Recommend the initial cloud and portability approach
- Design integration of large language models and other AI services for operational intelligence, recommendations, insights, and natural-language data access
- Define the site-data ingress contract in partnership with Integrations
- Provide technical direction to engineers joining the new platform
- Set the engineering patterns used by the team
- Partner closely with Product Management, Integrations, and Developer Platform
- Develop an API-first cloud service deployable in customer environments using agent-assisted engineering under human review

- Designed the domain data model for a complex operational system, including assets, hierarchies, time series, and events
- Owned data-model evolution across releases, including compatibility, versioning, and migration decisions
- Delivered retrieval performance at telemetry scale
- Experience with time-series and relational storage, including PostgreSQL with TimescaleDB or equivalent, and a columnar engine such as ClickHouse for analytical and AI workloads
- Designed queries for live and analytical workloads over long histories and met API latency targets
- Hands-on experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Judgment about when managed services are appropriate versus when portability matters
- Built identity, tenancy, and security by design into enterprise SaaS
- Designed and published an API or data-model specification used by other teams and ideally external organisations
- Written architecture decisions that engineers worked from
- Senior individual-contributor experience on foundational platform production code
- Preferred: experience with agentic coding tools and reviewing agent-written code at volume
- Preferred: knowledge of or experience with DCIM products
- Preferred: Kafka-compatible streaming and MQTT brokers
- Preferred: OpenTelemetry instrumentation
- Preferred: integrating large language models into a platform
- Preferred: running platforms across public clouds or shipping cloud and customer-hosted/air-gapped software
