About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the development, testing, and maintenance of scalable codebases for complex accounting integrations and other products as necessary
Design and scale mission-critical integrations connecting ServiceTrade’s platform with external financial ecosystems
Build robust REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven AWS serverless workflows using Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions
Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve critical issues, implementing preventative measures to guarantee accuracy and reliability
Collaborate with and mentor junior engineers, fostering best practices in advanced software engineering principles and techniques
Establish comprehensive code and process documentation to enable seamless team collaboration and knowledge transfer
Manage daily workload effectively across many priorities
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate innovation while reviewing, testing, and owning the output

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js; comfortable working within mixed modern and legacy codebases
Experience with AWS infrastructure, including Lambda, SQS/DLQs, S3, DynamoDB, Step Functions
Proficiency in designing robust Webhooks, REST APIs, OAuth/token flows, and handling retries/idempotency
Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB/DocumentDB
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and event-driven systems
Practical experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate delivery, with the judgment to review, test, and own the output
Proactive approach to identifying and solving technical challenges with a focus on performance and scalability
Familiarity with Python for data-focused backend systems is a plus
