About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide IT Infrastructure support services across Tier 1 Help Desk, Tier 2 End User Support, and Tier 3 Server, Platform, and Network Infrastructure Support and Engineering
- Manage and maintain the agency’s network infrastructure
- Lead installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cisco network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Monitor and optimize network performance, ensuring efficient resource allocation and minimal downtime
- Diagnose and resolve complex connectivity, performance, and security issues
- Apply patches, updates, and security configurations to network devices
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies
- Collaborate with IT teams to support network needs and integrate network solutions
- Mentor junior network administrators and IT staff
- Architect network infrastructure services, establish secure baseline configurations, develop implementation plans, and deploy services
- Lead complex troubleshooting for Layer 2, Layer 3, wireless, VoIP, data center, and SDN technologies
- Research and report on emerging technologies and organizational value
- Install hardware and support configuration of IT network systems in NCUA on-premises environments
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- CCIE certification or a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a relevant IT area
- Experience with LAN, WAN, wireless, VoIP, data center, and software-defined networking (SDN) administration, engineering, and architecture
- Ability to maintain a Public trust security clearance
- Experience with Cisco network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Experience with Palo Alto Firewall devices and cloud networks
