About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and design satellite user terminals to required specifications and industry standards
- Design test plans, procedures, objectives, criteria, and methodologies
- Conduct functional, performance, stress, environmental, compliance, and certification tests
- Operate test equipment and software tools to execute test cases
- Collect and analyze test data using statistical methods and data analysis tools
- Detect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues
- Document test procedures, setups, results, development processes, and technical findings
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts, tools, and frameworks
- Ensure satellite terminals meet industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Improve test methodologies, tools, and processes
- Collaborate with design, development, quality assurance, project managers, and stakeholders
- Communicate test progress, status updates, and insights
- Assess deployment risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Implement tests validating risk mitigation measures
- Provide Level-4 technical support to peers and customers inside and outside the company
- Keep current with satellite communications testing technologies and best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Recognized Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering degree (BS/MS or similar) with knowledge of RF and telecom theory
- 1 to 4 years of hands-on engineering experience in satellite terminal systems, development, systems engineering, or test and validation engineering
- Experience in RF measurement techniques and testing/verification of satellite terminals
- Expertise in auxiliary systems including networking (IP, switching, routing), monitoring and control systems, and power
- Knowledge of satellite communication systems, transmission standards, modulation and decoding techniques
- Experience with software development processes, integration and test procedures, unit testing, and automated testing concepts
- Knowledge of electronic development cycles and integration/testing
- Basic knowledge of satellite systems and space segment operational concepts (ConOps)
- Fluency in written and oral English
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally from time to time
- Ability to coordinate business requirements and stakeholders
- Analytical, problem-solving, project management, time management, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision
- Ability to identify and implement change and solve problems
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse organization
- Awareness of technological developments, market trends, competitive factors, standardization, licensing, and regulatory aspects
- Highly desirable: software quality assurance, software testing methods, test automation, automated unit testing, software development, agile methodologies, GITHUB, JIRA, SVN, SQL, IDEs, debugging, virtualization, and operating systems
