About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the Speech Recognition (SR) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) products
- Turn customer, market, and research input into a clear roadmap and backlog
- Ship MVPs quickly and improve them using real user feedback
- Run experiments and make decisions based on results
- Work with partners to understand how end users use voices and speech models
- Own the SR and TTS backlog, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and prioritize by customer and business value
- Run sprint ceremonies with the scrum team
- Keep the Azure DevOps board and product documentation up to date
- Work with R&D to turn new models into product releases
- Define quality targets with R&D, including accuracy (WER), naturalness (MOS), and latency
- Collect needs from internal product teams including Agentic AI, Agent Copilot, and Conversational Intelligence
- Support Presales on RFPs and technical questions
- Support PS and Support teams on customer issues
- Build the roadmap with the team lead, covering new languages, new voices, and on-premises and cloud deployment
- Track competitors and open-source speech models
- At Senior level, drive speech strategy across all products
- At Senior level, lead customer escalations
- At Senior level, guide junior team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- BSc in Computer, Software, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field
- Product Owner level: 1+ years as a PO, PM, business analyst, or software engineer at a software company
- Senior Product Owner level: 4+ years of total experience, with at least 2 years as a PO or PM
- Experience in a fast-paced environment such as a startup, a scale-up, or a B2C or B2B2C product
- Hands-on Scrum experience, including owning a backlog and running sprints
- Working knowledge of REST APIs and webhooks
- Ability to test an API with Postman
- Advanced English, written and spoken
- Clear communication with both technical and business teams
- PSPO I certificate expected within 6 months for Senior Product Owner hires
- Coding experience in a software team is nice to have
- Experience with speech or ML products such as SR, TTS, voice AI, and LLMs is nice to have
- Understanding of model evaluation metrics (WER, MOS, latency) is nice to have
- Knowledge of the contact center or customer service industry is nice to have
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes-based deployments is nice to have
- Experience with developer platforms, APIs as a product, or partner ecosystems is nice to have
- Daily use of AI tools in product work is nice to have
- Arabic language skills are not mandatory, but a strong advantage
