About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist patients, staff, and physicians to maintain operational efficiency, customer service, and quality care
  • Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills within the assigned scope of practice
  • Perform and assist with tests and procedures
  • Administer and document medications safely and accurately
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures; obtain consent; prepare and label biopsies
  • Document patient care and manage AEHR tasks
  • Triage patient concerns, route issues to physicians, return calls, and schedule appointments
  • Provide patient education and teaching in partnership with physicians
  • Support front desk scheduling and telephone management
  • Participate in clinical projects, quality assurance assignments, inspections, inventories, and quality initiatives
  • Monitor patient flow, physician schedules, daily tasks, supplies, authorizations, surgeries, and procedures
  • Respond to urgent and emergent situations and activate emergency procedures
  • Assist other departments and travel to other sites as business needs arise

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - CA Board of Vocational Nursing & Psychiatric Technicians -REQUIRED
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
  • 1 Year LVN experience in related clinical area
  • Ambulatory care experience
  • ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association -PREFERRED
  • IV Certification (NPTA Sterile Product Certification) - Various-Employee provides certificate -PREFERRED
  • Typing proficiency of at least 30 words per minute with 0-2 errors
  • Knowledge of insurance, utilization review, scheduling requirements and front desk responsibilities
  • Knowledge of department equipment and information systems applications
