About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic thought leadership for architectural and technical strategies, solution design, and implementation consultation
- Formulate strategies for technology identification, deployment, and utilization
- Lead enterprise application design, development, interfaces, secure programming, scalability, resilience, and system performance
- Guide technology selection, architecture, and roadmaps to achieve business objectives
- Define, design, develop, document, and maintain enterprise application architectures and roadmaps
- Facilitate application and database solution design using best programming practices
- Translate business needs into efficient strategies and designs
- Align technology roadmaps with corporate objectives, assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies
- Create standards, guidelines, documentation conventions, and best practices for application development
- Evaluate current and emerging technologies and establish strategies and roadmaps
- Create high-level architectural designs and address systems integration, compatibility, and security
- Architect robust, scalable, resilient, and extensible software with senior developers
- Drive transition to service-oriented architecture using cloud and existing infrastructure
- Communicate and educate teams on emerging technologies and facilitate technical training
- Evaluate vendor solutions and recommend technologies
- Set the technical vision for internal and external products and services
- Lead implementation of selected technologies and software solutions
- Represent the organization in strategic initiatives and assess impacts on existing applications
- Mentor staff and assist with technical challenges
- Analyze application availability, scalability, security, and performance
- Recommend flexible, reliable, and highly available application solutions
- Perform make-or-buy analysis and consult on support issue resolution
- Plan, analyze, develop, implement, and document technical issues affecting web pages, databases, and related components
- Analyze performance and scalability impacts and conduct peer design and code reviews
- Drive automation for development, validation, and deployment
- Guide solution configuration, development, validation, and deployment
- Maintain system documentation and change-control procedures
- Guide code branching, versioning, and nonproduction environment practices
- Provide oversight for design, coding, unit testing, performance testing, and security testing
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related
- 10 or more years of experience with software development, or 5 years of software development experience with a Master's degree
- Experience in mobile application architecture and Progressive Web Applications
- Experience with enterprise application design patterns and principles
- Experience with CI/CD development methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Experience with complex database design concepts
- Experience interfacing with internal and third-party APIs
- Experience designing and developing new APIs as part of a service-oriented architecture
- Understanding of enterprise architecture and cloud technologies
- Extensive understanding of enterprise application architecture and infrastructure, including availability, resilience, and performance
- Understanding of secure programming concepts and OWASP Top 10 risk mitigation
- Understanding of PCI and HIPAA compliance requirements
- Master's degree in computer science or related preferred
