About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze, evaluate, and settle insurance claims involving automobile material damage losses
- Determine the value of physical damage claims
- Negotiate settlements within prescribed limits of authority
- Follow established procedures and comply with legal and contractual obligations
- Evaluate and settle auto total loss claims
- May perform duties related to catastrophe teams for auto losses
Requirements
What you’ll need- Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Superior negotiation, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to learn policy coverage analysis and interpretation and motor vehicle estimating through on-the-job learning and claims training courses
- Strong technology skills, including keyboarding and familiarity with word processing software, electronic communications, automobile estimating software, and internet research capabilities
- Good basic but advancing knowledge of automobile repair
- Willingness and ability to acquire and maintain state licenses as applicable
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- A minimum of two years general business experience in an insurance setting is preferred
