About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work as part of an agile team to develop web application requirements, writing code and unit tests in accordance with best practices and design patterns
  • Participate in the development of technical solutions, collaborating with Product and Quality teams
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Shift product features using approved tools and following coding, architecture, quality, and business rules
  • Analyze functional and non-functional requirements and propose technical solutions aligned with architectural, quality, and business standards
  • Design, document, implement, and enhance REST APIs in accordance with architecture, security, versioning, and documentation standards
  • Prepare software engineering technical artifacts, including ERDs, class diagrams, UML, and other models
  • Estimate technical effort and support delivery planning with the Agile Lead and the team
  • Keep technical documentation up to date and consistent with implemented solutions
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and component tests
  • Propose functional and technical improvements to enhance Shift products
  • Develop solutions following Security by Design principles and security, privacy, and secure development requirements
  • Use Generative AI tools in development, analysis, documentation, and software engineering, in compliance with security, governance, and responsible-use guidelines
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Quality, Agile, and other teams to clarify requirements, align solutions, and ensure value-driven deliveries
  • Communicate blockers, technical risks, and dependencies
  • Participate in code reviews and provide technical feedback
  • Identify the root causes of technical issues and propose corrective and preventive actions
  • Support the Agile Lead in managing deliveries
  • Contribute to the evolution of the knowledge base, standards, checklists, documentation, and best practices
  • Promote continuous learning, innovation, knowledge sharing, and the improvement of products and processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
  • Experience developing and maintaining web applications
  • Front-end development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Angular 16+
  • Back-end development experience with Java, REST APIs, and SQL
  • Knowledge of relational database modeling
  • Knowledge of UML modeling and the ability to read technical diagrams
  • Experience with Git-based version control
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, development best practices, Clean Code, and API design
  • Experience with unit testing and continuous integration (CI/CD)
  • Experience using Generative AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, for coding, test generation, documentation, refactoring, and productivity
  • Critical thinking and ownership of deliverables
  • Nice to have: Quarkus, Docker, and Docker Compose
