About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee core accounting operations across Shipt’s entire P&L
Ensure financial integrity and support strategic growth
Lead end-to-end accounting processes and establish best practices
Provide functional leadership, work review, and technical guidance to a team of 3 accountants
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Analyze emerging technical accounting standards, economic trends, and operational shifts
Update accounting policies and modernize accounting processes, ERP systems, sub-ledger integrations, and financial reporting automation tools
Partner with business stakeholders to ensure P&L accuracy and financial transparency
Provide technical and policy guidance on key initiatives
Perform ad-hoc analyses and special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need

Undergraduate degree in Accounting
6+ years of relevant Accounting experience
Strong understanding of GAAP
Previous experience with SQL
Previous experience with Workday ERP
Ability to work successfully in an ambiguous, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment
Curious mindset with a focus on process improvement
