About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead upfront work to get new concepts and projects approved, planned, staffed, and set up for success
  • Lead and drive development, planning, and closure of project execution efforts, including internal and external dependencies
  • Assess and monitor risks involving budgets, schedules, product costs, and quality/functionality
  • Communicate risks and issues to Project Teams and Stakeholders
  • Negotiate and guide decisions toward budget and schedule adherence
  • Ensure team compliance with the new product development process
  • Report progress to project governance bodies through regular status reports and collateral
  • Negotiate and maintain relationships with outside design firms, co-development partners, and vendors
  • Review project activities at project completion, compile lessons learned, assess adherence to targets, and suggest process improvements
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams through hardware and software product development cycles from concept to completion

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Engineering preferred
  • PMI PMP certification or PDMA NPDP certification preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in new product implementation
  • Minimum 4 years of experience leading teams in a direct report or dotted/matrix environment
  • Proven expertise working with in-house and OEM/ODM/JDM projects
  • Product development experience in and understanding of wireless systems and technologies preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to exhibit leadership without formal authority
  • Ability to lead Project Teams through motivation, influence, and coaching
  • Effective communication across all organizational levels
  • Ability to leverage knowledge of organizational roles and responsibilities
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, acoustical, and software engineering, marketing, operations, and quality disciplines
  • Experience designing, leading, piloting, or implementing Critical Chain or Lean/Agile project management techniques
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
