About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create, design, and implement cutting-edge features and products
- Brainstorm with research scientists and stakeholders to identify AI/ML use cases and opportunities to optimize and platform solutions
- Survey literature and conduct original research and experiments
- Solve problems and share findings and prototypes with colleagues, senior staff, and executives
- Identify and document software requirements, architectural options, and opportunities for platforming and reuse
- Implement prototypes across embedded, mobile, desktop, cloud, and database applications
- Develop, optimize, and test software applications and functionalities for real-time, semi-latent, and offline applications
- Optimize input features, frame rates, model structures, and other implementation characteristics with research scientists
- Validate AI/ML and algorithm features by automating measurements against defined metrics
- Mentor, coach, and monitor less experienced engineers
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Track software methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Participate in working groups
- Design and document software approaches
- Contribute to intellectual property and innovation initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field with minimum 2 years of related experience OR Master’s degree
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Proficiency in C++
- Proficiency in one or more other high level programming languages such as Python, Rust, Java, etc.
- Proficiency in software development principles, design patterns, object-oriented design methodology, and multi-thread real-time application
- Experience with embedded software development, Mac and PC application development, mobile apps, or cloud-based applications and services
- Working knowledge of signal processing, computer vision, and machine learning
- Experience with real-time video applications, embedded Linux or AOSP development, GPU programming, or hardware deep learning accelerators is highly desirable
