About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead daily month-end close activities, including customer billing, vendor payments, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations
Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet accounts, cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and intercompany transactions
Analyze variances, resolve discrepancies, and ensure reports are accurate and delivered on time
Coordinate monthly reporting to the Japanese parent company and support the US consolidation process
Maintain the general ledger in Microsoft Dynamics 365
Manage fixed asset accounting and prepare financial statements
Ensure compliance, support regulatory filings and audits, and review payroll data
Act as a business partner to US studio directors and operations teams
Collaborate with finance teams in the US and London, the FP&A team, and Group Treasury
Improve close processes, reporting, controls, and finance workflows

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and/or a professional accounting designation such as Canadian CPA, US CPA, or equivalent; candidates working toward a relevant qualification will also be considered
Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset
Significant full-cycle accounting experience, ideally within a small or medium-sized business
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, such as GAAP or IFRS
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with advanced Excel expertise
