About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to a roadmap of development for Side’s use of D365.
  • Ensure all Side entities are successfully using D365.
  • Evaluate current processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with finance and IT colleagues to design and implement system enhancements and new functionalities.
  • Remove previous system customisations and enable regular Microsoft upgrades.
  • Ensure D365 meets compliance, reporting, and operational needs.
  • Liaise between finance, IT, vendors, and other departments.
  • Operate core financial D365 modules and ensure timely validations and reconciliations.
  • Review and update financial business processes; identify weaknesses and implement resolutions.
  • Identify, plan, develop, and implement system improvements and enhancements.
  • Coordinate testing, validation, and sign-off for D365 financial module upgrades.
  • Maintain master data, user authorisations, approval hierarchies, and general ledger interfaces.
  • Interface between Finance and IT on functionality, performance, downtime, and future developments.
  • Support development of financial and non-financial reports for business analysis.
  • Manage change requests and minimise operational disruption during transitions.
  • Develop end-user training programs and onboard new joiners on system usage.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, system requirements, workflows, and user guides.
  • Drive finance process automation and align external and internal reporting requirements.
  • Support robust controls and workflows for data accuracy, security, and compliance.
  • Link systems expertise to timely and accurate statutory, regulatory, and management reporting.
  • Automate and improve finance processes, reducing manual intervention and enhancing reporting efficiency.
  • Maintain data-flow, process, and key-control documentation for audits and compliance checks.
  • Maintain the Finance Architecture roadmap and track product updates.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a software, technology, finance or business related field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and budgeting.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to receive, understand and convey ideas and information clearly and accurately, including complex, highly detailed, technical or specialist information, in written and verbal form.
  • Advanced level of IT skills (D365, Microsoft Office, Power BI), and understanding of financial systems and controls.
  • Excellent working knowledge of D365 is essential.
  • Experience of transforming finance related processes is essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrable ability to navigate through uncertainty and provide solutions when working through ambiguity.
