About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and guide recruitment best practices at every organizational level
  • Support and maintain a values-aligned candidate experience and cultivate warm candidate pools
  • Support communications and training for managers and hiring teams, including interview training
  • Roll out organization-wide recruitment guidance
  • Develop systems and practices for socializing open roles in underrepresented communities
  • Support enhancement and delivery of organizational onboarding
  • Ensure new hires receive a robust and seamless onboarding experience
  • Develop an organization-wide learning and development strategy
  • Identify organizational learning gaps and needs
  • Build and deliver synchronous and asynchronous learning modules and resources
  • Serve as an expert guide on learning strategy, coaching and mentoring the Employee Experience Team and volunteer partners
  • Design and conduct annual employee and culture surveys
  • Analyze survey data and develop reports and recommendations
  • Build and maintain a high-functioning team
  • Make hiring, promotion, and termination decisions for supervised staff
  • Mentor and develop the Employee Experience Team and conduct annual performance evaluations
  • Develop and implement people-centered programs fostering workplace belonging and organizational values
  • Support coordination and strategic integration of Sierra Club’s Affinity Groups
  • Supervise 3–4 staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Extensive experience leading initiatives aimed at welcoming new people to a company or organization
  • Understanding of federal requirements and legal obligations connected to document retention and non-discriminatory hiring practices
  • Experience running, developing, evaluating, and scaling recruiting and onboarding initiatives
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Skill designing synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
  • Coaching and collaboration skills
  • Strong audience analysis skills
  • Understanding of adult learning best practices and inclusive approaches to learning styles
  • Program/project management experience supporting engagement in learning opportunities
  • Experience managing workloads with shifting priorities
  • Proficiency in some ATS, LMS, and HRIS systems
  • Ability to gather employee feedback and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
  • Commitment to deepening and evolving understanding of systems of oppression
  • Ability to build cross-functional relationships and collaborate
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience partnering with executives and advising senior leaders on employee experience, culture, learning, and engagement
