Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems
  • Support the creation and execution of test plans for mechanical products
  • Perform basic analyses and simulations to validate designs
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports for review
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design requirements are met
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design and testing issues
  • Support mechanical structures and systems design, development, testing, and deployment for aerospace and defense applications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • 0-2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role
  • Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Ability to obtain and maintain United States secret security clearance
  • Internship or project experience in aerospace or defense industry preferred
  • Familiarity with applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 preferred
  • Knowledge of parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes preferred
  • Knowledge of environmental requirements for components utilized in aircraft and space applications preferred
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment
  • Ability to apply systematic and logical problem-solving techniques
  • Ability to clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates
  • Ability to understand technical documents, designs and test reports
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required for employment due to the security clearance requirement
