About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and deliver complex, high-visibility efforts within the JADC2 portfolio
- Advance integrated command-and-control capabilities across battlespace domains
- Support projects connecting sensors, high-altitude platforms, and area defense systems into a unified operational architecture
- Shape strategy aligned with “Golden Dome for America” initiatives
- Lead internal Research and Development projects
- Oversee project execution across cost, schedule, and risk
- Manage program integration for multiple complex projects and major systems
- Maintain customer relationships and track technical planning, execution, and program performance
- Manage high-risk programs with budgets of $20M or greater
- Supervise program and project staff
- Lead proposal activities from customer interaction through requirements definition, estimating, negotiation, and contract award
- Participate in business resource planning and tracking
- Formulate and lead teams to fulfill program requirements
- Identify, track, and resolve program issues and problems
- Identify, mitigate, track, and manage program risks
- Conduct routine meetings and communicate project/program status
- Develop proposals, conduct research and fact-finding, coordinate audits, and negotiate with stakeholders
- Support the Program Director and Business Operations
- Develop, implement, and monitor detailed program plans
- Lead internal and external teams to deliver mission-critical capabilities
- Develop and maintain Earned Value Management baselines and performance metrics
- Oversee engineering change proposals and technical subprojects
- Support business development and capture efforts, including proposal strategy, pricing, and negotiation inputs
- Lead initiatives fostering innovation, efficiency, and rapid capability deployment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Management, Engineering or related field, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- 6+ years of progressive experience in project or program management in the Aerospace & Defense industry
- 1+ years' experience leading teams of 3+ cross-functional team members
- Experience evaluating requests for proposals and/or quotes
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals and/or quotes
- Experience with contract negotiations and contract types
- Experience managing multiple projects and/or a small program
- Experience serving as the primary focal point for a customer
- Demonstrated financial acumen
- Ability to coordinate all elements of program integration management
- Ability to perform task coordination, resource development, and stakeholder identification
- Ability to manage program lifecycle conflicts and competing priorities
- Leadership abilities including change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, accountability, and yearly reviews
- Ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire teams, drive innovation, foster collaboration, and adapt to dynamic situations
- Skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, and program management disciplines
- Ability to identify, assess, and control financial, technical, and legal risks
- Current/active Secret US Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
- PMP certification preferred
- Advanced degree preferred
- Understanding of FAR and DFARS preferred
- Working knowledge of PMBOK preferred
- Experience with CMMI, agile, or spiral development models preferred
- Experience managing projects requiring Earned Value Management preferred
- Understanding of application tools and data architectures preferred
- Ability to use corporate PM tools preferred
- Ability to participate in PM process and tool improvement initiatives preferred
- Ability to establish and refine program documentation templates, tools, and guidelines preferred
- Experience ensuring compliance with Corporate and ISO 9001:2000 policies and processes preferred
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment
- Frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Occasional travel may be required
