About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee total program integration management for multiple complex projects and major systems
  • Manage customer relationships, cost, schedule, and technical planning
  • Track and report project status, technical execution, and overall program performance
  • Supervise program and project staff
  • Lead proposal tasks from initial customer interaction through contract award
  • Define requirements, create bases of estimate, negotiate, and secure contract awards
  • Participate in business resource planning and tracking with corporate entities
  • Formulate and lead teams to fulfill program requirements
  • Identify, track, mitigate, and resolve program issues, problems, and risks
  • Conduct routine meetings and interface on project/program status
  • Develop proposals, conduct research and fact-finding, coordinate audits, and negotiate with stakeholders
  • Ensure initiatives meet cost, budget, and schedule constraints
  • Support the Program Director and Business Operations for the Business Area

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Management, Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in project or program management in the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • 3+ years leading medium scale projects spanning 1–2 years and teams of 5+ cross-functional members
  • Relevant experience may substitute for the required educational qualifications; without a degree, 12 years of related experience is required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required for employment due to the security clearance requirement
  • Experience evaluating requests for proposals and/or quotes
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals and/or quotes
  • Experience managing a complex project or larger program
  • Experience in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, and program management disciplines
  • Demonstrated financial acumen
  • Ability to execute program integration management and coordinate program elements
  • Ability to perform task coordination, resource development, and stakeholder identification
  • Ability to manage program lifecycle conflicts and competing priorities
  • Ability to identify, assess, and control financial, technical, and legal risks
  • Leadership abilities including change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, accountability, and yearly reviews
  • Ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead teams, drive innovation, and adapt to dynamic situations
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Understanding of FAR and DFARS preferred
  • Working knowledge of PMBOK preferred
  • Experience with CMMI, agile, or spiral development models preferred
  • Experience with Earned Value Management preferred
  • Understanding of application tools and data architectures preferred
  • Ability to use corporate PM tools preferred
  • Ability to participate in PM process and tool improvement initiatives preferred
  • Ability to maintain awareness of project-controls changes preferred
  • Ability to enhance program management expertise in staff preferred
  • Ability to establish and refine program documentation templates, tools, and guidelines preferred
  • Experience ensuring compliance with Corporate and ISO 9001:2000 policies and processes preferred
  • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment
  • Effective communication with team members and stakeholders
  • Occasional travel may be required
