About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee total Program Integration Management for multiple complex projects and major systems
- Manage customer relationships, cost, schedule, and technical planning
- Track and report project status, technical execution, and overall program performance
- Supervise program and project staff
- Lead proposal tasks from initial customer interaction through requirements definition, basis of estimate creation, negotiation, and contract award
- Participate in business resource planning and tracking with corporate entities
- Formulate and lead teams to fulfill program requirements
- Identify, track, and resolve program issues and problems
- Identify, mitigate, track, and manage program risks
- Conduct routine meetings and provide project/program status interfaces
- Develop proposals, conduct research and fact-finding, coordinate audits, and negotiate with stakeholders
- Ensure initiatives meet cost, budget, and schedule constraints
- Support the Program Director and Business Operations in fulfilling Business Area responsibilities
- Manage programs with budgets of $20M or more
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Management, Engineering or related field
- 8+ years of progressive experience in project or program management in the Aerospace and Defense industry
- 3+ years leading medium-scale projects spanning 1–2 years and teams of 5+ cross-functional members
- Relevant experience may substitute for the required educational qualifications; without a degree, 12 years of related experience is required
- Higher-level relevant degree may substitute for experience
- Experience evaluating requests for proposals and/or quotes
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals and/or quotes
- Experience managing a complex project or larger program
- Experience in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, and program management disciplines
- Demonstrated financial acumen
- Ability to execute all elements of program integration management
- Ability to perform task coordination, resource development, and stakeholder identification
- Ability to manage program lifecycle conflicts, prioritize competing requests, and evaluate resources
- Ability to identify, assess, and control financial, technical, and legal risks
- Proficient leadership abilities, including change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, accountability, and yearly reviews
- Ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire teams, drive innovation, foster collaboration, challenge the status quo, and adapt to dynamic situations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship status is required for employment because an active U.S. security clearance is needed
- PMP certification preferred
- Advanced degree preferred
- Understanding of FAR and DFARS preferred
- Working knowledge of PMBOK preferred
- Experience with CMMI, agile, and/or spiral development models preferred
- Experience managing projects requiring Earned Value Management preferred
- Understanding of application tools and data architectures preferred
- Ability to use corporate PM tools and participate in PM process and tool improvement initiatives preferred
- Ability to establish and refine program documentation templates, tools, and guidelines preferred
- Experience ensuring compliance with Corporate and ISO 9001:2000 policies and processes preferred
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment
- Frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
- Occasional travel may be required
