Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage complex mechanical engineering projects
  • Provide expert guidance on the design and development of mechanical systems
  • Perform high-level analyses and simulations to ensure optimal performance
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on mechanical engineering practices
  • Prepare and review detailed technical documentation and reports
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Apply systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to develop mechanical designs
  • Convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management
  • Understand technical documents, designs, and test reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience
  • Expert understanding of mechanical design principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Experience with missile systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain United States secret security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required
  • Master’s or PhD in a related field preferred
  • Experience applying and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5 preferred
  • Understanding of FEA, CFD, and Thermal Analysis preferred
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry preferred
  • Knowledge of parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes preferred
  • Knowledge of environmental requirements for components used in aircraft and space applications preferred
  • Experience providing technical guidance to a diverse team of engineers preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing, production, and product support, including disposition of engineering non-conformances preferred
  • Familiarity with FAA, NASA, and/or DoD design and construction regulations preferred
  • Experience with mechanical systems design preferred
