About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Direct and optimize subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for highly complex procurements
- Lead preparation of intricate bid packages and establish evaluation criteria for subcontract proposals
- Analyze and evaluate high-value subcontractor proposals for technical, financial, and regulatory compliance
- Negotiate subcontract provisions, including terms, price, and schedule
- Administer, oversee, and mentor others on FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPIF, and other complex contract types
- Monitor, assess, and improve subcontractor performance against contract terms and deliverables
- Maintain records of subcontract agreements, amendments, and performance metrics
- Identify, select, and recommend new subcontractors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive leadership
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, FAR, and DFARS
- Drive continuous improvement in subcontract management practices
- Mentor and provide strategic guidance to the subcontract management team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or 12+ years of related experience in lieu of the degree
- 8+ years of experience in a related role
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience
- Master-level proficiency in subcontract management principles and methodologies
- FAR Part 15 (sub)Contract experience
- Cost / Price Analysis Experience
- Expert knowledge of Business System requirements and applicability to contracts
- Strong ability to present complex contract information concisely
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance eligibility
- Extensive leadership experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry preferred
- Mastery of procurement and subcontract management software preferred
- Experience with Earned Value Management Processes preferred
- Advanced certification in supply chain management preferred
- Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer
- Hand and finger dexterity for data entry and document review
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong leadership and strategic negotiation capabilities
- Ability to travel as needed for supplier and subcontractor meetings and strategic discussions
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex data and provide strategic recommendations
- Excellent critical-thinking ability to solve complex subcontract-related challenges
