About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and mentor a team of buyers, subcontracts management specialists, and category leads
  • Continuously improve the supply base to support program and business area requirements
  • Develop and implement strategic material plans and forecasts
  • Partner with executive management, program management, and other departments
  • Identify, mitigate, and resolve supply chain risks and issues
  • Lead discovery and implementation of new technologies and processes
  • Establish, track, and communicate key performance indicators
  • Prepare and manage capital, contract equipment, and facility requests
  • Support SNC’s SAOC aerospace and defense program and next-generation aircraft mission

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or relevant experience as a substitute; in the absence of a degree, minimum 13 years of related experience
  • 9+ years of experience in operations or a related area
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain principles
  • In-depth working knowledge of Commodity, Category and Sourcing Management
  • Background in manufacturing timelines and requirements
  • Ability to read and understand technical requirements
  • Excellent negotiations skills
  • Supply Chain Management skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Preferred: CPSM or CPIM professional certification
  • Preferred: Experience supporting government contracts in Supply Chain
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS compliance
  • Preferred: Experience with major ERP and P2P/S2P systems
  • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment
  • Proficiency in using a computer for extended periods
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally
  • Regular travel may be required for supplier visits and audits
