About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and maintain advanced security measures, including firewalls, encryption, IDS/IPS, and multi-factor authentication
- Configure, deploy, and manage security tools and technologies
- Implement and manage network security measures protecting data, systems, and networks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into system designs and deployments
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in security audits and assessments for cybersecurity framework compliance
- Apply secure software development practices to enhance application security
- Monitor and address cyber supply chain threats
- Provide cybersecurity requirements input for new projects and technologies
- Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams on complex security projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
- Typically 2+ years of related experience
- One or more required certifications: GIAC, network technology certifications such as CCNP, or SANS level 200 courses
- Knowledge of secure software development
- Knowledge of cyber supply chain threat monitoring
- Preferred: CySA+, GSEC, CCSP, CISA, CISM, or CISSP certifications
- Preferred: Experience with SIEM tools
- Preferred: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security platforms
- Preferred: Knowledge of network security protocols and practices
- Preferred: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Preferred: Experience with EDR solutions
- Preferred: Understanding of GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS
- Preferred: Experience with IAM solutions
- Preferred: Knowledge of threat intelligence platforms
- Preferred: Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools
- Preferred: Experience with incident response and digital forensics
- Preferred: Understanding of zero trust architecture principles
