About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in designing and developing electrical components and systems
- Modify and evaluate existing electrical systems to improve performance and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements and standards
- Conduct tests and simulations to validate electrical system and component performance
- Document design processes, test results, and modifications
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for electrical systems and components
- Stay updated with advancements in electrical engineering and apply new knowledge to projects
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and progress discussions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
- Typically entry-level 0–2+ years of experience
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits and components
- Basic understanding of electrical design tools and equipment
- Basic understanding of electrical design tasks
- Ability to learn, receive instruction, and accept mentorship from more experienced engineers
- Internship or co-op experience in electrical engineering is preferred
- Exposure to Capital, AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer, or similar tools is preferred
- Exposure to SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar simulation software is preferred
- Understanding of PCB design and layout is preferred
- Understanding of command and data handling methods is preferred
- Understanding of power electronics and/or control systems is preferred
- Exposure to microcontrollers, embedded systems, or FPGAs is preferred
- Ability to perform circuit analysis and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers is preferred
- Exposure to C/C++ or Python for embedded systems development is preferred
