Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support an engineering team developing environmental and propulsion spaceflight systems
  • Assist in the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical, fluid, and pressure control hardware and systems
  • Collect and analyze data to support engineering objectives based on performance requirements and industry standards
  • Contribute to resolving routine technical problems
  • Prepare technical documentation to communicate findings and support project objectives
  • Work within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and meet deadlines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • Typically entry-level 0–2 years of experience
  • Basic understanding and application of Mechanical Engineering technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing concepts
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team and follow guidance from senior engineers
  • Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts and information
  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in a collaborative and dynamic work environment
  • Internship or co-op experience in a mechanical engineering or related environment
  • Hands-on mechanical experience such as an engineering competition team, senior design project, robotics, or 3D printing
  • Familiarity with Siemens Teamcenter and NX applications and GD&T
  • Familiarity with design, analysis, and test methods related to mechanical, fluid and/or pressure systems
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material sciences, and their impact on mechanical systems
