Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in designing and developing electrical components and systems
  • Modify and evaluate existing electrical systems to improve performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements and standards
  • Conduct tests and simulations to validate electrical system and component performance
  • Document design processes, test results, and modifications
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for electrical systems and components
  • Stay updated with advancements in electrical engineering and apply new knowledge to ongoing projects
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and progress discussions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
  • Typically entry-level 0 - 2+ years of experience
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits and components
  • Basic understanding of electrical design tools and equipment
  • Basic understanding of electrical design tasks
  • Ability to learn, receive instruction and mentorship from more experienced engineers
  • Internship or co-op experience in electrical engineering preferred
  • Exposure to electrical design software such as Capital, AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer, or similar tools preferred
  • Exposure to simulation software like SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar preferred
  • Understanding of PCB design and layout preferred
  • Understanding of power electronics and/or control systems preferred
  • Exposure to microcontrollers, embedded systems, or FPGAs preferred
  • Ability to perform circuit analysis and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers preferred
  • Exposure to C/C++ or Python for embedded systems development preferred
