Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and execute medium-sized technical projects
  • Ensure successful integration of engineering solutions
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of engineering projects
  • Manage key programmatic functions and ensure projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, cost, and schedule constraints
  • Serve as a bridge between Engineering and the Program Office
  • Lead medium-sized cross-functional teams and balance technical and programmatic constraints
  • Provide technical estimation support for Bases of Estimates, proposals, and contracts
  • Conduct high-impact trade studies and lead technical evaluations
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Develop and manage supplier Statements of Work
  • Address supplier issues and create return-to-green plans for supplier schedules
  • Support Program Management Teams through Risk Management and Cost/Schedule management
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders
  • Communicate and coordinate across engineering and functional teams
  • Deliver technical status updates and key insights to leadership
  • Report Key Performance Indicators and Technical Performance Metrics
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement
  • Support conflict resolution and represent stakeholder perspectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree, or Master's degree plus 6 years of experience
  • Typically 8+ years of related experience
  • Strong technical foundation with demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Understanding of key programmatic disciplines, such as Cost/Schedule management
  • Ability to lead medium-sized cross-functional teams and projects
  • Extensive technical expertise and experience in the relevant engineering discipline
  • Proven track record of successfully leading technical teams through project execution
  • Strong project management skills, including complex engineering design evaluations and issue resolution
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills
  • Progressive experience managing projects across the entire development life cycle
  • Expertise in project management techniques and processes, including EVMS, CAM, or equivalent
  • Expertise in risk and opportunity management
  • Ability to work and communicate with technical and specialty subject matter experts across functional disciplines
  • Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts, plans, and actions
  • Professional Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Experience with systems engineering and integration preferred
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools such as MS Project and Primavera preferred
  • Experience with CAD software and engineering design tools preferred
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations preferred
  • Experience in product lifecycle management (PLM) preferred
  • Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies preferred
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously preferred
  • Experience developing and managing project budgets preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives preferred
