About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and execute medium-sized technical projects
  • Ensure successful integration of engineering solutions and drive innovation
  • Oversee design, development, and implementation of engineering projects
  • Manage key programmatic functions while meeting technical, quality, cost, and schedule constraints
  • Serve as a bridge between Engineering and the Program Office
  • Lead medium-sized cross-functional teams and projects
  • Provide technical estimation support for Bases of Estimates, proposals, and contracts
  • Conduct high-impact trade studies and lead technical evaluations
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Develop and manage supplier Statements of Work
  • Address supplier issues and create return-to-green plans for supplier schedules
  • Support Program Management Teams through risk management and cost/schedule management
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders and coordinate across engineering and functional teams
  • Communicate technical concepts, plans, and actions verbally and in writing
  • Deliver project status updates, Key Performance Indicators, and Technical Performance Metrics to leadership
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement
  • Support conflict resolution and represent stakeholder perspectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree, or master's plus 6 years of experience
  • Typically 8+ years of related experience
  • Strong technical foundation with demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Understanding of key programmatic disciplines, such as cost/schedule management
  • Ability to lead medium-sized cross-functional teams and projects
  • Extensive technical expertise and experience in the relevant engineering discipline
  • Proven track record of successfully leading technical teams through project execution
  • Strong project management skills, including handling complex engineering design evaluations and resolving issues
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills
  • Progressive experience managing projects across the entire development life cycle
  • Expertise in project management techniques and processes, including EVMS, CAM, or equivalent
  • Expertise in effective risk and opportunity management
  • Ability to work and communicate with technical and specialty subject matter experts across varying functional disciplines
  • Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts, plans, and actions
  • Current/active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance required
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Preferred: project management focus, material acquisition, supply chain management, PMP certification, systems engineering and integration, project management software and tools, CAD software and engineering design tools, industry standards and regulations, PLM, Agile and Lean methodologies, analytical and decision-making skills, managing multiple projects, project budgets, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
