About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive proactive electrical architecture decisions across the program
  • Lead engineering teams focused on cohesive electrical system and subsystem design
  • Advise the SV Lead and Chief Engineer on system-level electrical impacts and risks
  • Maintain and control Electrical Interface Control Documents, pinout charts, and wiring schematics across all subsystems
  • Review, analyze, and understand customer specification documents
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Manage electrical interfaces and signal channelization
  • Produce and validate electrical system definition documentation, such as electrical diagrams
  • Develop and manage command/telemetry databases
  • Lead electrical test definition and planning
  • Provide electrical functional support to AI&T for electrical nonconformances and ensure closure
  • Support integration, manufacturing, ground test, and flight operations
  • Incorporate lessons learned into future designs
  • Improve engineering workflows, design standards, and digital engineering capabilities
  • Perform electrical system design and analysis, electrical compatibility analysis, voltage drop and power quality analysis, signal integrity derating, electrical integration, EICD collection, device library work, harness drawing review, electromagnetic/RF compatibility, and E3 (EMI/EMC) activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree, or Master's degree plus 8 years of experience
  • Typically 10+ years of related experience
  • Expertise in Systems Engineering principles and practices
  • Comprehensive understanding of the systems development lifecycle
  • Experience with requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation
  • Experience developing systems architecture and performing systems integration, verification, and validation activities
  • Ability to work and communicate with technical and specialty subject matter expert engineers
  • Current/active Secret U.S. Security Clearance required
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • Preferred: Experience with DOORS, CAMEO EA, Rhapsody, Matlab, and SysML
  • Preferred: Understanding of spacecraft systems, hardware and software subsystems and components
  • Preferred: Understanding of project management methodologies, risk management, technical performance tracking, technical baseline, and configuration management
  • Preferred: Project leadership and mentoring experience
  • Preferred: Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
  • Preferred: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Preferred: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
