About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and test software applications for space systems and technologies
- Write clean, maintainable code adhering to best practices and coding standards
- Collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements and complete assigned tasks
- Use version control systems such as Git to manage code changes
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and compliance with development standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues
- Document software designs, configurations, processes, and procedures
- Stay current with software development and space technology trends
- Assist in identifying development workflow inefficiencies under guidance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
- Typically, 0–2+ years of experience
- Basic understanding of one or more programming languages and software development principles
- Ability to write clean, maintainable code
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship status is required
- Preferred: exposure to DevOps/DevSecOps practices, scripting languages, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Linux, security and software development best practices, C/C++ build tools, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, and logging and monitoring tools
